Matches between Dnipro and Zaporizhzhya - the closest regional centers in Ukraine - always was derby. And this time the game also was very hard for both team. Metalurg didn't win last 6 league games and very wanted to break this seria in a match against principal rival. In other side, Dnipro feels good on the second place and wanted to reserve this position.
Only goal was scored on 19th minute. Vorobei made a cross from left flank and Samodin kicked a ball by his head from the close distance. If Dnipro captain Oleg Shelaev scored a penalty 10 minutes later, it would have been very easy game for home team. But he sent the ball into the sky.
During the second half Metalurg could equalize from free-kicks, but Kernozenko stopped all Godin's attempts. Dnipro's goalkeeper made a 100th clean-sheet in his career (league, cup, eurocups and national team matches) and helped his team to save an impotant victory.
